On Sunday July 26, an activity around the soap took place at Alice Eddéboutique in Byblos Old Souk.

A traditional Lebanese product recreated by Mrs. Amal Bassil and Mr. Fady AbiSleiman in front of the eyes of young and older explaining how the combination of olive oil and caustic soda can produce soap. Bubbles blown into the air put everyone in a friendly mood.

The Alice Eddé soaps in lavender, jasmine and rose were available for visitors,as well as hand-crocheted loofa pouches filled with soap bits.

SOAPThe history of soap dates back more than six thousand years.Handmade and natural, Alice Eddé Lavender, Jasmin and Rose cold processsoaps are creamier and more luxurious than other natural soaps. We take thetime to research, mix and cure the ingredients, testing combinations withdifferent skin types and adding essential oils to evoke specific moods.

LoufaThis hand-crocheted cotton pouch holds a subtle mixture of our soap chips. The two straps slip over the hand to use under the shower. Refill available.

Gift BoxDelight a friend or loved one with this trio of delicately scented soaps. It is also the ideal hostess gift.

Iridescent SoapUsed for centuries to nourish, moisturize and disinfect the skin, green coldprocessed
soap is traditionally-made, rich in beneficial whole green olives. Thefirst oil from the very first press-the 'virgin' olive oil-is extracted from theskin and crushed olive pits. The paste left behind is called "pomace", whichcontains the ground skins, pits, flesh and the drop of oil that imparts its naturalgreenish color.

Although lye is needed to make proper soap, no lye remains in the finalproduct: it has all been reacted with the oils to form soap and glycerin (20%).

Unlike most commercial soaps, we leave the glycerin in-thus retaining itsnatural humectants. Green cold-pressed soap is completely vegan and contains no artificial colors and only natural perfume.
