Murex D'Or honouring Tania Kassis
(What's up ?) 8 years ago

The Murex d'Or fifteenth edition (2015) that took place at the Casino du Liban selected this year Soprano Tania Kassis for being amongst the most prominent music stars in the world performing in major music halls and theatres like Paris and other major international capitals.

Because Lebanon, the country, cannot be measured by its mere geography of 10452 km2, but goes way beyond it with the outstanding accomplishments of its sons and daughters like Tania Kassis, the jury of the Murex d'Or nominated her as the Ambassador of International Theatres with the Best Patriotic Song "Watani" of the year 2014.

During the award ceremony, excerpts from Tania Kassis's previous performances at the Olympia in Paris, the Sydney Opera House in Australia and her recent performance in Italy at the DUOMO DI MILANO in the presence of an estimated audience of 50,000 persons were projected on the big screen.

Tania Kassis carried the soul and spirit of Lebanon through her voice, as she sung for peace after war, for dialogue and moderation at times of extremism and fanaticism, she sung in all languages, like Arabic, French, English, Spanish and even Korean. She translated into her own voice the meaning of world music, and gave it a true sense of an all-inclusive diversity.

Dressed by a wonderful Michael Kors dress with beautiful Chopard jewelries, Tania Kassis seemed very moved by this nomination while thanking the Murex d'Or committee and the Helou Brothers for granting her this award coming from her own country. For Tania Kassis, this Lebanese reward is more significant and meaningful than any others she previously won outside her native land. She highlighted that the "Watani" song was released exactly a year ago during a big event at the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. On this occasion she thanked the outstanding composer and singer Marwan Khoury as well as the remarkable arranger Michel Fadel who were behind the success of her song, as well as her parents who taught her the love of Lebanon, and all those who believed in her and supported her. She dedicated her Murex to the Lebanese diaspora for their deep faith and love to their motherland, Lebanon.
