Dear hikers,

Baakline: is a city located in Mount Lebanon, chouf district, 45 kms southeast of Beirut.
Bordering towns: Deir el qamar, Beit eddine, Annybal, Deir Dourit, Symkanieh, and Jahlieh.

This city has several trails that can be hiked in all seasons.
We will experience one of the trails, that will starts from Baakline National Library (a building heritage set up in the era of Naoum Basha in the eighteenth century and later used as a court, than a police station and a prison, than it was used as a mail center and later a municipality. Nowadays, it is newly restored and has become one of the largest libraries in the middle east.) After taking a picture of the group near this library we will continue our trail to reach a marvelous trail of horsh Baakline where we will hike among trees and dense forests and we will pass by a natural pot hole in the ground called "Houwet Raiidan". It is a 70 m deep and its diameter is very wide.

We will go in a downhill until we reach the river side and the blue falls known as " berket zarkaa" where we will have our lunch there.

The last 3 kms will be hiked near the river till we reach Jahlieh where the bus will be waiting for us.

Deir el Qamar: After hiking in Baakline, we will visit Dany Chamoun place in Deir El Qamar and we will pass by the old charming houses and paths near Saydeh Church, where we will take several pictures.

Meeting point: behind DHL - Jal el dib facing the Canadian embassy ( we can pick our hikers that live on our way)

Departure: 8:00 am

Hiking distance: 12 kms (level 5/10)

Total hiking duration: 5 hrs

Moving time: 4 hrs

Required materials: jacket to keep warm, hiking boots, backpack, hat, 2L of water, raincoat, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hat, gloves, rain coats.

Fees: 35000 LBP (including transportation, guidance, 5 mins warming up, stretching, but does not include medical insurance)
