Named after the "Switzerland of South America", Uruguay in translation actually means the "river of the colorful birds", a word in Guarani that was spoken by the natives of the area.
Yes you got me right. I am talking about Uruguay Street in downtown, that's been gaining major popularity these past months.
The most promoted, popular and treasured drink in Uruguay (South America) is mate, a tea-like drink made of dried yerba mate leaves. Legend has it that mate was presented as a gift from the gods to humanity after a man stopped two goddesses from being eaten by a jaguar.
Uruguay in downtown has things "plus simple" with no legends to back it up (but who said the drinks to offer aren't as tasty or even tastier than mate?!).
