Ehdeniyat’s finale featured an exceptional show that intertwined cinema and theatre in a huge Lebanese production. Cine Orchestre II was nothing short of a masterpiece by George and Nicholas Khabbaz and Lubnan Baalbaki accompanied by 70 musicians from the Romanian National Radio Orchestra. The night reminisced on renowned films and their unforgettable soundtracks. The night held many surprise features with star guests like Corine Matni whose voice took us back to love aboard the ‘Titanic’ and the overwhelming events of ‘Evita’ and Bruno Tabbal whose interpretation of El Tango De Roxanne in light of the light moves of Sahar Abi Khalil and Mazen Kiwan put you right in the middle of Mouline Rouge. The Godfather’s recollection was embodied by tenor Elia Francis who then came on stage to give a breathtaking performance with Corine Matni on the Phantom of the Opera. The films, with scenes on the back screen and the live orchestra engaged the whole audience. This work comes as a reiteration of Ehdeniyat’s constant support for local art and culture.
