Imagine Dragons at Jounieh Festival

Imagine Dragons, the American alternative rock band, performed its first show in Lebanon on July 7, marking the perfect culmination to the Jounieh International Festival concerts. Winning this year's Grammy for Best Rock Performance, the Las Vegas quartet did not hold back in its performance that awed its Lebanese audience.

 

Although Imagine Dragons was the final concert of the festival, it was definitely not the least, with almost 7,000 spectators screaming in anticipation. Imagine Dragons had the audience singing along and jumping with excitement to the international hits: Radioactive, Demons, On Top of the World and It's Time. The Into the Night Tour was eagerly welcomed by the audience.

 

The concert, which filled the Fouad Chehab Stadium offered a combination of strong vocals, excellent instrumentals and special visual effects broadcast on a huge LED TV. With a specially made catwalk and the first standing arena, the crowd felt closer to the band and even more engaged in the concert.

 

The PHELLIPOLIS non-profit association, founded by Neemat Frem, organized the concert in collaboration with the Jounieh Municipality and ICE, an event planner.

Imagine Dragons began its path to rock stardom in 2008. The four band members - Dan Reynolds (vocalist), Wayne Sermon (guitarist), Ben McKee (bassist) and Daniel Platzman (drummer) - initially played four nights a week at O'Shea's on the Las Vegas Strip. The band's path changed entirely in 2012, after releasing the platinum-selling debut album, Night Visions. Since then, the group has reached No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Billboard Rock Songs, with the hit song 'Radioactive' and No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative and Rock Album charts, with the Night Visions album. Imagine Dragons has received numerous accolades and awards from the American Music Awards, Grammys, Billboard Music Awards, and others.
