Kunhadi Taxi Night 13

August 11^th, 2014 was TAXI NIGHT at SKYBAR; an event organized by KunHadi and sponsored by Zaatar w Zeit and Diageo, to promote a safer nightlife. The event was filled with special ideas to make the theme so expressive. Zaatar w Zeit had beverage coasters especially made for this event stating; "We hate losing clients, we beg you not to drink and drive." They also distributed man'oushet za'atar to the attendees. The entry tickets included 2 drinks and a taxi ticket where you book a taxi 48 hours in advance because no cars are allowed. There was even a condom distribution emphasizing a safe nightlife in all its aspects. The whole purpose of this event is to show the young generation that it is always possible to party like crazy, without threatening your life and the life of others. Many celebrities attended the party to encourage this mission, and a representative from KunHadi took the stage to thank them one by one; Ministers Michel Pharaon and Ziad Baroud, Zein el Omr, Aline Lahoud, Anthony Touma, Mario Bassil,Tony Abou Jaoude, Joe Maalouf, Wissam Breidy, Walid Doumiati, and Toni Baroud.

So what is KunHadi exactly, and how did it originate?

After the saddened death of the 18-year-old Hadi Gebrane, Kunhadi, a non-profit organization, was established in Lebanon. It was Easter evening 2006, and Hadi was driving back with his friend in his friend's father's sports car after an early breakfast. Around 6 a.m., and while hitting the Dora highway, he was surprised by a fisherman crossing the road on his motorbike. He steered away and crashed into the road separator then hit a pole. Luckily his friend survived, but Hadi caught his last breath.

The concept of this organization was suggested by one of his best friends, but the name was chosen by Hadi's mother.  Ever since the accident, the sole purpose of this organization is to limit dangerous driving behaviors. This is basically done through sessions, ads, billboards, and events, all serving one purpose; promoting road safety awareness.
