This had been the toughest and most difficult year for us at Step Together since we started our mission 26 years ago; a mission dedicated to educating and caring for individuals with special need regardless of their ethnic or social backgrounds. And despite the success on our educational and therapeutic levels the tremendous struggle we were forced to face had put our students' future on the line. Step Together as well as other Lebanese NGO's have been let down again by their own government. Our contract, with the Ministry of Social Affairs has not been renewed for the 2019-2020 year, the lack of support and assistance from the government has taken its toll on the overall financial situation of Step Together.
Even though our Annual Gala Dinner held on June 12 at B by Elefteriades had helped in bridging this gap, yet we are still very far from our target.
