Elissa's fans have been waiting impatiently for her new music video to be released, and on Tuesday August 7 she tweeted "You are the reason I am strong and healthy... You are my strength.And this story is a thank you 'For all those who love me'" with the link to her YouTube.
What the public didn't know was that Elissa had been battling breast cancer for over a year as she revealed in the video clip details of her doctor's visits, MRI scans, actual voice notes sent to her friends, recording sessions in between treatments, emotional downs and breakdowns which ended in the fortunate news from her doctor that she beat the disease. The deeply touching video took the country by storm as fellow artists, celebrities and media personalities in addition to the entire music loving community shared their supportive thoughts and wishes.
Elissa insists that her video shouldn't make us cry but to be happy and grateful. Elissa battled in silence behind the scenes and is now using her journey to help others, as she ends her music video with a strong message that early detection can save lives.
