The Lebanon Water Festival held the last event of the summer! On Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th, the Cypress Gardens team and Lebanese team put on good shows at La Marina in Dbayeh. This weekend marked the end to the 2014 Lebanon Water Festival.

Starting on August 10th, we made our way from North to South bringing water sports to the various regions and people while providing infrastructures for everyone to participate in any water sport activity. The Lebanese team and Cypress Gardens combined their skills and performed a spectacular finale show!

The water conditions were the best we’ve had all summer long! The flat water allowed skiers to perform additional acts, including a three skiers jump doing 360 degrees turn and giving the impression they were walking on water!

The audience was surprised with a flying object coming down from the air! The wind started to pick up, which was great news for Marc Voisard, who couldn’t wait to take off on his kite! He took off at sea and went up to 35 meters in the sky! With all eyes glued on him and his kite, he flew overhead the audience before making a graceful land on water between the yachts.

The Lebanese team performed a ballet with a Lebanese flag costume, red and white, the three-man pyramid and for the first time wave surfing behind the boat!

The crowd gave a standing ovation to the Cypress Gardens and Lebanese teams who rode past them on boats after the show. It was an entertaining show for all and a great way to end the 2014 Lebanon Water Festival.

The Lebanon Water Festival continued its long tradition of bringing the Cypress Gardens team to Lebanon since 1955 for two weekends of shows: one in Tyre and the other at La Marina in Dbayeh. The history between Cypress Gardens and Mr. Khoury continues to positively affect Lebanon by creating a bridge between the sport and the teams from various locations worldwide.

“The reason I invite the skiers from Cypress Garden is because the ten years I spent there, from 1954 to 1964, have marked my whole life for the better. We have established many friends and partnerships in the states,” said Khoury.

Every year, the Lebanon Water Festival continues to grow and attract more Lebanese and foreigners alike to our events. Our festival couldn’t have been done without the support from all of sponsors, the municipalities and clubs we work with throughout the festival. We would like to give a special thank you to the Ministry of Tourism for their continued support.

It has been a full summer of water sports along our beautiful coast. We introduced new people and new locations to a variety of water sports and brought awareness to what the Mediterranean Sea offers us all year long! We look forward to seeing you at the 2015 Lebanon Water Festival!
