The event of the summer! On Thursday 21 August, an audience of 500 spectators who had come to cheer the multi-award-winning singer Nancy Ajram were well rewarded with a spectacular live show by this superstar and her 15-strong backing band. For an hour and a half, the Lebanese singer performed some of her greatest hits to enthrall the crowd who were charmed by her mix of traditional oriental music and Western pop. The concert was the kick-off event of the Lebanese weekend that was planned at the luxurious Hotel Majestic Barrière on August 22 and 23 in conjunction with Le Royal Beirut.
For the concert, the Hôtel Majestic Barrière's beach was transformed into a setting worthy of a fairytale from A Thousand and One Nights, including private sections with comfortable armchairs, enchanting lighting effects, and a Lebanese dinner conjured up by the team of Le Royal's Executive Chef Souheil Ghazal and accompanied by the head Chef Maryan Gandon from Hotel Majestic Barriere, transporting to the other side of the Mediterranean.
The menu served to all 300 people present featured the very best of Lebanese cuisine, including stuffed vine leaves, fatayer, sambousik, kebbeh, hummus and marinated chicken.
Excellent feedback was received from the guests who delighted in all the Lebanese fare and atmosphere, with congratulations coming in from all directions. Many of the French Riviera's VIPs, jet setters and of course expatriate Lebanese in France attended this momentous event, which cemented the relationship between Le Royal and Majestic Barrière - both of which belong to the Leading Hotels of the World.
This success is just one of many initiatives that Le Royal Beirut is undertaking to increase Lebanon's popularity abroad and keep tourism in the country alive. Many other events, both in Lebanon and abroad, will build on these international efforts and help maintain Lebanon as the jewel of the Middle East.
