Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct Mission: Impossible 5, which would reunite him with Tom Cruise.

Tom wrote on Twitter: "MISSION ACCEPTED! It's OFFICIAL! @ChrisMcquarrie is the director of #MissionImpossible 5!"

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - the fourth movie in the action series - has grossed almost $700 million (£450 million) worldwide since opening in December 2011.

Production on Mission: Impossible 5 is expected to begin soon, with a release scheduled for 2015.
