Nizar Fakhoury enters Guinness book for winning 7 marathons in 7 continents

    05 january 2016

After winning 7 marathons in a 7 continents race in February 2015, Nizar Fakhoury was proud to announce that he had entered Guinness Book of World Records for the "Fastest time to complete a marathon on each continent (male)" in a total of 10 days, 23 hours, 12 minutes, and 12 seconds.

"Words cannot describe how proud I am to bring this title home to my family and to my country Lebanon. Six months before attempting this global race I had never run a marathon in my life. My mission was to simply complete the challenge; nothing more, nothing less. This was one of the greatest achievements of my life, and for that I am eternally grateful to the people who stood by me" stated Fakhoury who thanked before everyone his mother Rima Fakhoury, a decorated golf champion and a humble winner of dozens and dozens of trophies and awards during her sporting career in Tennis and Golf. He then went on to thank his father Walid Fakhoury who supported him despite his initial surprise about this huge challenge, and his sister Hayat who was happy and supportive no matter what. Fakhoury also thanked Mostafa, the guy behind this whole idea, who kept telling him "I know you can do it" over and over again, and everyone who participated in his life changing journey from his teammates to his endurance coach Joe, his running coach Norrie Williamson, and Dr Niveen El Saleh who supported him all along.
