HIS hit Nineties programme Art Attack encouraged thousands of British children to get crafty.
But after the much-loved CITV show came to an end in 2007, presenter Neil Buchanan decided to carve out a very different career path.
The former kids’ TV host ditched his colourful red sweatshirt and stowed away his PVA glue to concentrate on his first passion – music.
Neil, now 54, is busy rocking out with his heavy metal band, Marseille.
The eccentric TV star formed the rock group in his native Liverpool in 1976.

However, Neil, who is dad to Freddie and Molly, quit the band in the early Eighties and became a TV regular.
He co-hosted ITV Saturday morning show No. 73 and its successor Motormouth.
The show, which encouraged children to draw, paint and paper mache until their heart’s content, was so popular it won a BAFTA TV Award.
Neil became known for his eternally cheerful demeanour and catchphrase, “Now try it for yourself”.

In a 2011 interview with the BBC, he admitted music had always been his first love.[TheSun]
He said: “I’m a musician first – that’s what runs through my blood.
