Our next station stop is a collaboration full of ta2a and creativity to highlight and
empower Lebanese rising talents. MEDCO chose the School of Design, ALBA at the Balamand
University, the hub of innovation, to revamp its forecourt winter uniforms. The purpose was to
give the floor to imagination and offer our Pump Attendants a new MEDlook.
Six students of ALBA’s School of Design participated in the competition where they
showcased their skills by designing a well-deserved superhero uniform, as per the brief, for our
MEDCOers frontliners.
Joy Wakim, a gifted artist, crafted the winning design. Inspired by the iconic superhero
Goldorak, Joy created a unique blend of samurai-style pants paired with a stylish bomber jacket,
incorporating plenty of "chaddeh" throughout the uniform to match our Latin Lebanese MEDCO
language, infused with a distinctly Lebanese graphism reflecting our patriotic Centennial
company.
What made the uniform even more special, was our young designer’s personal touch,
her very own signature proudly adorning it.
Why Goldorak? Also known as Grendizer, this character holds particular significance
having emerged with our MEDCOers. They both represent steadfastness and dedication, much
like our brave MEDCOers, who are unwavering in their mission to keep Lebanon fueled and
running despite hardships.
Joy Wakim, Sophomore, used MEDCO’s color codes: Royal Blue to service our
honorable guests, Yellow for the warm Mediterranean Sun and Red for the Passion for what we
do. Behind its symbolic meaning, this new uniform demonstrates our commitment to delivering
exceptional service and treating every Guest like a VIP, from the moment they interact with our
sharp-looking MEDCOers.Congrats to Joy (1st runner up), Lea Hajj (2nd) and Ivanah Rbeiz (3rd), winning the
competition, notoriety, recognition and complimentary Gasoline to kick-off their promising
professional journey ahead of them.
We extend our gratitude to the team at ALBA University, particularly Star and
God-Father of the School of Design Rabih Keyrouz, Dean Dr. Fadlo Dagher and Director Eric
Richter for their enthusiasm and precious collaboration on this relooking project.
This creation has been celebrated by the young students of ALBA who showcased it in a
vibrant fashion show bursting with energy!
Through this initiative, we celebrate the brilliance of young Lebanese talents, the
essential Mission of our frontliners, and the rich culture that defines MEDCO’s proud legacy.
Lebanon will always remain Ard el Ebda3 w El Feker. Don’t you agree?
