Under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Michel Pharaon, Minister of Tourism, Golden Tulip Lili’s Resort and spa, the largest leisure attraction in the Lebanese mountains and Abadiyeh-Aley, opened its door to the great public in a beautiful inaugural ceremony featuring MPs, social figures and media representatives on Friday evening. Among the attendees were the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Akram Shehayeb; Head of the Hotel Owners Association, Mr. Pierre Al-Ashkar; Head of the Union of Furnished Apartment Owners, Mr. Ziad Al-Labban; Representing MP Talal Arslan, Mr. Lewaa Jaber; Director General of the Ministry of the Displaced, Mr. Ahmad Mahmoud; Governor of the South, Mr. Mansour Daou; Brig. Gen. Naji al-Masri, commander of the Judicial Police; Military Magistrate, Riad Abu Ghida; Under-Secretary of the Progressive Socialist Party in Matn, Mr Hadi Abou Al-Hassan; Head of the Traders’ Association of Aley, Mr. Samir Shehayeb and Head of the Municipality of Abadiyeh, Mr. Adel Najad.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, H.E. Mr. Michel Pharaon, Minister of Tourism, along with MP Akram Shehayyeb, Mr. Nabih El Moughrabi , Owner of Golden Tulip Lili’s Resort and Spa, Aley and Mr. Amine E. Moukarzel, President of Golden tulip MENA and the invitees toured the hotel and discovered  its unique facilities before heading to the Orchid ballroom for the gala dinner.

Mr. Nabih El Moughrabi , Owner of Golden Tulip Lili’s Resort and Spa, Aley gave a welcome speech, saying: “I spent 35 years abroad making a living but I always had hope that one day I will return home and give back to my home country as many have done before me. The biggest obstacle we have today is powering through the rough economic situation as investors would do, especially investors in the tourism sector. With the current economic and security situation, you can say we are swimming against the current but deep down we all have hope and are certain that we will overcome these obstacles with your help and support and return Lebanon to its rightful status as the beacon of the east.”

Mr. Amine E. Moukarzel, President of Golden tulip MENA walked the audience through the Golden Tulip MENA history explaining how he oversaw the hard work that went into building the resorts in Lebanon and the region. He also praised Mr. Al-Moghrabi’s efforts who faced numerous obstacles while investing in his hometown in Lebanon. Mr. Moukarzel then applauded the international practices and standards that Golden Tulip is keen on holding in its 60 hotels which are among the top 8 hotels in the world.
