Promod and Hayatouki launch an awareness campaign against breast cancer

At the occasion of October, designated as the National Breast CancerAwareness Month, Promod- Lebanon and the online magazine Hayatouki joint their efforts to launch a nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative, throughout all the Promod stores (Beirut Souks, Kaslik, Le Mall Dbayeh, Le Mall Saida, Le Mall Sin el Fil and Tripoli). Pink ribbons were distributed to all customers in order to raise and enhance awareness and promote yearly prevention tests, show support towards breast cancer patients and spread awareness about the importance of breast cancer early detection.

Set to run during two weeks in October, from the 15th till the 31st of the month, the awareness campaign aimed also to sustain loyal customers aged over 35, to sponsor local events to support breast cancer patients and to drive traffic to the stores.

To expand the outreach of the core awareness message to a wider target audience and impact more lives, the Awareness Initiative was as well promoted through various outlets such as window wrapping, stop sign in front of each shop and communication inside the shop boasting a slogan that states ″ Together Against Breast Cancer″.

Simultaneously, Hayatouki completed these measures with editorial articles and ads on its Facebook page intended to Lebanese users.

In addition, a contest was launched. The participants could head to anyPromod store in Lebanon, take a photo of themselves in front of the store and send it to Hayatouki's team to upload it in a specific album on their Facebook page. They could then enter a poll to win. The lucky winner was Diana Garabedjian who won a voucher of 150$ from Promod.

In fact, all women are at risk for breast cancer, and as a woman gets older, her risk increases. In Lebanon, researchers estimate around 1750 women diagnosed every year with breast cancer and 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at some time in her life. Fortunately, early prevention is the first solution towards a healing process.

That is why every woman above 35 years is encouraged to undergo a yearly mammography and a scan in addition to a personal monthly checkup done at home in order to ensure her best safety.
