Rotana, the pioneering company in the field of hotel management in the Middle East and Africa, has reached valuable new ranks at the 20th Horeca exhibition, in 2013, the regional annual forum for the Hospitality and Food and Beverage industries. Chefs from Rotana have won several distinguished prizes after taking part in benchmark competitions in the culinary field, which reflected their creativity values and high talent levels.
Eight chefs from the three Rotana hotels in Lebanon, "Gefinor Rotana", "Raouché Arjaan by Rotana" and "Tamar Rotana", took part in the competition. They all prepared innovative dishes, ranging from desserts, sandwiches, as well as Lebanese mezza dishes and specialties The jury which comprised of a group of international experts, chose the best chefs for the year 2013, who were innovative and quick in preparing well assorted meals. Therefore, Nidal Aridi, Kifah moufaq and Hani Younis received three bronze medals for the categories of "desserts", "cold fish meals" and "sandwiches," while Mohammad Nasser, Samira Aoude and Chadi Kreiker have obtained merit certificates for the categories of "preparing a Lebanese meal" and "preparing six different meals for the dinner menu."
Commenting on those results, Rotana's Area Vice-President in Amman, Lebanon, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, Mr. Joseph Coubat said, "Horeca is known for gathering a vast series of restaurants and trademarks, and that's why we are so proud of this valuable participation." He added, "The results achieved by Rotana's chefs reflect the high level of our outstanding services, particularly in the field of food and beverages. This proves once again our active role in defining the future features of the fast developing hospitality sector".
Rotana annually takes part in "Horeca", through its official patronage of the event and the participation of its chefs in cooking competitions. The exhibition gathers more than 385 companies and agencies working in the field of tourism and food.
