Pól Breaks New Ground with First Arabic Single, Ken Helme

    17 march 2025

Lebanese singer-songwriter Pól, known for her intimate and evocative music, released Ken Helme, her first song written and performed in Arabic, her native language.

The song captures the emotions Pól experienced two years ago while contemplating a major life decision. During a period of self-reflection in the U.S., she grappled with the idea of building a new life abroad versus her deep connection to home.

"Everyone encouraged me to stay," Pól shares. "But that stirred something deeper within me, and for the first time, I began writing in Arabic."

A year later, she revisited the song with plans to include it in her upcoming album.

At its core, Ken Helme carries a powerful message: everything one longs for can be found at home. This sentiment resonates in the song’s final words: “L’it helme bi balade” (I found my dream in my homeland).

Beyond a personal milestone, this release reflects the experiences of many Lebanese navigating similar choices. Ken Helme, a heartfelt reflection on dreams, identity, and belonging, is now available on all major streaming platforms along with a music video directed by Elie Fahed.
