Jounieh International Festival 2014 congratulated the top five winners of this year's firework photo contest during a ceremony on 12 July 2014 at Madisson Hotel. Winners received gifts ranging from round trip tickets on Middle East Airlines (MEA), as well as high-quality top-of-the-line laptops from SETS Solutions.

 

During the ceremony, the jury explained why each winning photo was selected, while MEA and SETS Solutions representatives distributed gifts to 2014 Fireworks Photo Contest winners:

 

1-    Tony Dargham - Dell XPS Duo laptop

2-    Joe Karam - Two round trip tickets to London

3-    Nadim Abboud - Two round trip tickets to Athens

4-    Jad Safi - Dell Inspiration laptop

5-    Elie Chiha - Two round trip tickets to Istanbul

 

The photo contest, launched on 27 June, offered local and regional photography lovers a chance to win valuable prizes by taking the best photo of the Jounieh International Festival opening fireworks show. Participants were given 48 hours to upload up to three photos to the Jounieh International Festival mobile application.

 

The 5-member jury selected 20 finalists on 1 July and opened votes to the public from 2 - 7 July through the mobile application. On 9 July, Jounieh International Festival announced the top five winners on its official Facebook Page. The five winners were selected based on 50% highest votes and 50% re-evaluation by the jury.

 

As per the terms of the contest, PHELLIPOLIS reserves the right to license and reproduce photos submitted to the contest.  PHELLIPOLIS, a non-profit association founded by Neemat Frem, organized the ceremony.
