The "Geitawi on my mind" 2013 Festival was officially launched this week by special and unique event in front of St. Georges Hospital (Room), Achrafieh - Rmeil sector.
On behalf of the 3 NGOs (Logos, Mouna Bustros Foundation & Hamazkayin), Engineer Ziad Abs presented the detailed program of the 2nd edition, which will be held this year daily till 4th of May 2013 the date of the closing ceremony.
"This season, the theme of the festival will be "Shoppe in Geitawi & Win lot of prizes"said the young engineer. With this theme, we want to acknowledge all Lebanese people about the historical shopping street of Geitawi.
So, Engineer Ziad Abs launched officially the Festival "Geitawi on my mind" - 2013 when he invited all Lebanese to discover this street and he promised shopkeepers and street traders a larger efforts to enhance Geitawi street retail business base.
He added "We owe special thanks to the sponsors "Touch" and other partners who decided to keep this street alive".
The launching of the program took place at Geitawi Street facing Hospital Room (St. Georges) behind L'orchidee flowers at the occasion of the presentation of "Geitawi Old House" - the old house that was cleaned and painted by 2 NGOs (dispatch Beirut & Dihzahyners - Paint Up) sponsored by Colortek company.
As per Pierre Achkar, the festival coordinator, many events will be held on the street during the month of April such as:
Achrafieh by bike at 13th of April
Beirut Green Project - Lunch Break at 20th of April
StreetBall competition at 27th of April
The long day of Geitawi finished by the Mother's Day ceremony in Armenian Catholic Theater when the organizers met the mothers of the street with gifts and flowers.
The star Alaa Zalzali performed live in the ceremony his lovely songs accompanied by Lilliane Nemri with her funny spirit.
Finally, Geitawi on my mind was officially launched and Lebanese are invited to discover this street and benefit from the discounts and special offers; they should ask about their coupons and on the 4th of May, the big day of the ceremony they can benefit from the special gifts and unique prizes.
